PCT Partner 2022 Spotlight: Breyfogle Family

Al & Sharon Breyfogle with Welcome Packages

The Pulaski County Tribe is grateful for the partnership received in 2022 to help positive projects in Pulaski County come true! We were blessed to have the Breyfogle family as a gold-level partner, which helped PCT implement a variety of things throughout the year.

Al and Sharon Breyfogle were founding members of the Pulaski County Tribe and played a big role in the launch of the Welcome Package Project, along with a variety of other efforts.

We connected with Al to learn a little more about him and why he chose to be a 2022 PCT Partner, in addition to being a member. As you will be able to tell from the notes below, Al is a kind-hearted man who is truly invested in Pulaski County.

Was your support on behalf of anything?

In celebration of the life of my beloved wife, Sharon Breyfogle, a founding member of PCT and avid Pulaski County enthusiast. She was passionate about "bringing friendly back" to the community.

How long have you been a part of Pulaski County?

For 34 years, over which I have seen a great deal take place and developed many dear friendships.

What are a few of your favorite things about Pulaski County?

The small town atmosphere and the Winamac Town Park!

What is a fun fact about you?

I’m retired but work 3 part-time jobs. I'm not bored!

Is there a particular PCT project or initiative that resonates with you?

The Winamac Town Park improvements (Art in the Park project) are dear to me. Our family spent a lot of time in the park and now it's home to a swing for all to enjoy, dedicated to my son, Brad, and wife, Sharon.

What activities you would encourage residents and visitors to enjoy in Pulaski County?

Spend some time outdoors. Hiking, golfing, and bike riding are a few things people of all ages can enjoy.

Why did you choose to be a Gold Partner for the Pulaski County Tribe in 2022?

To support PCT in its quest to improve Pulaski County.

Are there other Pulaski County organizations you supported in 2022 through volunteering or donations?

Athletic Booster Club, Memorial Swinging Bridge Project, Kingdom Kids Daycare, Christian Church Daycare, and WCHS donation for improvements to the baseball field.

How do you think organizations such as the Pulaski County Tribe benefit the communities throughout the county?

It brings the needs of each community to a group that can collaborate and then connects resources to help meet the needs.

Can you share any words of encouragement to get others involved in positively impacting our community?

Don’t stand in the shadows and wait for others to make improvements!! Take that first step to become part of the forward movement to improve our communities!
