PCT Receives Community Foundation Grant for Welcome Package Project

Pulaski County Tribe recently received a $3,500 grant from the Community Grants Fund through the Community Foundation of Pulaski County. This grant is for the PCT Warm Welcome Package project and is intended to move Pulaski County toward its aspiration of becoming a community that is welcoming and open-minded.

Leaders of the Pulaski County Tribe announced the winning grant from the Community Foundation for the Warm Welcome Package project just in time for the kick-off of the program. Brandi Larkin praised the new project as a great collaboration among Pulaski County businesses, organizations, and residents and is grateful for the Community Foundation’s grant opportunities.

“We’ve been anxious to see the Warm Welcome Package project kick-off for some time,” Diana Day said in reaction to the news. “The project will assist us in sharing information about resources and services available throughout Pulaski County and allow for connection with new residents.”

The good news comes about at the same time as the PCT community enhancement Crane Mural project in Medaryville begins and after the launch of Pulaski County 2nd Saturday efforts for a Play in Pulaski County campaign. The mission of the Pulaski County Tribe is to communicate, collaborate, and celebrate among all communities in Pulaski County for the greater good of residents and guests. The Warm Welcome Package project will effectively support this mission and also address the aspiration of becoming a community that is welcoming and open-minded as well. Board president Brandi Larkin said, “The receipt of this grant is a great example of how we can achieve more when we work together. We’re grateful for the support from the Community Foundation of Pulaski County.”

The Pulaski County Tribe hopes that the Warm Welcome Project will also receive support from the Pulaski County community during a public meeting this winter when they celebrate 2021 activities and share results from various projects, such as this.
