On Saturday, June 14, community members and local photographers gathered at the Monterey-Tippecanoe Township Public Library to celebrate the winners of the Embrace the Pace Pulaski County Photography Contest, hosted by the Pulaski County Tribe.

This community-centered project invited photographers of all ages and experience levels to submit photos that reflect the spirit of Pulaski County. The goal was to capture the people, places, and pace of life that make Pulaski County unique.
Participants submitted entries in one of three categories: Landscape & Nature, Community Life, and Architecture & Townscapes. In total, 32 participants submitted entries. Submissions were judged across three skill levels: Youth (under 18), Amateur, and Professional.
PCT thanks all of the participants and offers our congratulations to the winners.

“I am grateful for the partnership of our local libraries that makes it possible for everyone in the county access to view the winning photos, along with additional photos,” said Lynn Darda of PCT. “This project has been an exciting way to celebrate the beauty and community of Pulaski County."
The photo display will remain at the Monterey Library through mid-July before moving to the Francesville-Salem Township Public Library in August, then to the Pulaski County Public Library in Winamac through mid-September.
PCT encourages the public to visit the libraries hosting the display to enjoy submissions, featuring the winning images and a collection of additional entries that reflect diverse scenery and stories. It’s an opportunity to see the county through different lenses - moments that are familiar, surprising, and local.
This project was made possible in part by support from The Arts Federation and the Indiana Arts Commission, which receives funding from the State of Indiana and the National Endowment for the Arts.
This project is another example of the power of small, local projects to connect people, celebrate place, and create lasting memories.
